For over twenty years, our chocolatier has carried on a tradition passed down with passion by a Belgian chocolate-maker. At L’Échappée belle, Belgian pralines take center stage — rich, melt-in-your-mouth, and unapologetically indulgent.
But the story continues here, in the heart of Québec, with unique creations that celebrate local flavors — wild blueberry, tangy sea buckthorn, amber maple syrup, and fir honey. Chocolates that tell a story of place, tradition, and the quiet joy of doing things well.

Our café is a place to gather — a warm, welcoming refuge where time slows down.
Here, you can savor richly flavored hot chocolates, steaming coffee, and herbal teas picked nearby, from Québec’s forests and gardens. Curious taste buds will delight in our handmade ice cream, refreshing drinks made with local fruits, and lovingly crafted treats.

Our pantry is a tribute to the quiet riches of the Québec forest.
Here, you’ll find carefully and respectfully harvested treasures: birch and maple syrups, conifer herbal teas, dried mushrooms, wild berries, forest honey, northern nuts…
Each jar, each pouch, tells the story of a foraging walk, a region, a season. This is no ordinary pantry — it’s one where nature fills the shelves with generosity and poetry, offering nourishment that’s closer to the earth.

« This gem of a place has a bookstore, handmade chocolates, and a coffee bar. They also sell locally sourced products like tea and jewelry. The seating area is cozy yet elegant and is stocked with games, books, and puzzles. No one on their phones here! Even my two teens were too busy playing with a puzzle to scroll. The hot chocolate was amazing, the chocolates were delicious and the ambiance was friendly and hopping! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. L'incontournable de Sutton! »

« Very impressive variety of delicious chocolate here. Nice collection and great quality. They sell some other interesting things like books, souvenirs, etc. Service is excellent. They are very kind and friendly. We drink hot chocolate here while playing a few games they provide, including origami papers. This chocolate shop is very special. Do not miss if coming to Sutton.
